AT&M-HEYE built Tool and Die Steel Research Center, which supported by National Engineering Research Center for Advanced Iron and Steel Materials Technology. AT&M-HEYE aims to design , develop and produce high performance die steel by IF, LF, VD melting process and ESR, SF(spray forming) , PM(powder metallurgy) special process, to replace imported die steel and provide more solutions of die steel. The cold work die steel HYC3 which has developed successfully with high wear resistance,excellent comprehensive performance and cost-effective has overcome the weakness of traditional D2, M2, LD etc., being well applied in various high performance cold work die area.The new kind of high alloy die steel with fine structure and less or no segregation was developed and produced by SF, PM special producing process in replace of traditional process.
AT&M-HEYE have advanced process, such as LF treatment, VD treatment, ESR treatment, homogenization treatment, multi-directional forging, controlled forging, controlled rolling and controlled colling which can guarantee our products with high performance such as low gas content, low non-metallic, high purity, no chemical segregation, excellent toughness and ductility in all directions.

Decarbonization:
The depth of total decarburization layer (ferrite + transition layer) on the surface of hot-rolled round steel and forged round steel shall not be greater than 0.35 + 1.1% d (D is the nominal diameter of round steel), and decarburization layer is not allowed for silver bright steel. Nonmetallic Inclusions:
Non metallic inclusions shall be evaluated according to GB / t10561. Class A, B, C and D inclusions shall be ≤ 1.0 level and DS type inclusions shall be ≤ 1.5 grade – a method
Annealed Structure:
After sufficient spheroidizing annealing, the annealed structure shall be uniform spherical pearlite, with carbides distributed on the matrix. The spheroidization degree of HYC1, HYC2 and HYC3 shall refer to the first rating chart of GB / T 1299, and the qualified grade is grade 2-4.
Flaw Detection:
Ultrasonic flaw detection is carried out for the steel according to GB / T 4162, reaching the qualified level.
