Tungsten has the characteristics of high melting point, high strength and hardness, good performance at high temperature, low resistivity, small expansion coefficient, and small electronic work function; therefore it is the metal material which is most widely used in high-temperature conditions.
Molybdenum has good thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity and low expansion coefficient (which is similar to glass for electronic tubes), and high strength at high temperature (1100~1650℃); compared to tungsten, it’s easy to be processed, thus be widely applied in manufacturing of electronic tubes (grid and anode), and electric light source (support materials), and metal processing tools (die-cast and extrusion mold and perforation heads), and applied in the aerospace industry.
